MARES OF THRACE + TARLUNG

Mares of Thrace are a total riff feast; and while it can be characterized genre-wise further – as sludge or doom metal or post-hardcore and the likes – such a description captures the spirit of their minimalist, uncompromising sound. The sole constant member of the project, formed in 2010, is Thérèse Lanz, former bassist of the noise rock institution KEN mode, here on vocals and baritone guitar.

Mares of Thrace are joined by Tar Lung, a stoner/doom metal trio from Vienna, active since 2013. They have shared the stage with EyeHateGod, Crowbar, and Conan; they have three albums to their credit, the most recent of which is 2021's Architect, and a split EP with the noise rock band KRPL.
